Product Overview
ADS1100A0IDBVR is a tiny differential delta-sigma ADC for slow precision measurements where board area and power matter more than throughput. Its selectable data rate changes effective resolution, reaching 16-bit output at the lowest conversion rate.
Unlike ADS1110, the ADS1100 uses the supply as its conversion reference. That makes ratiometric bridge or sensor measurements attractive when the sensor excitation comes from the same rail, but it also means VDD quality directly affects absolute-voltage accuracy.
The A0 suffix is part of the exact I²C-address identity and the DBVR suffix selects the 3000-piece SOT-23 reel. A system using several fixed-address variants must retain that order-code distinction in both firmware and purchasing.

Functional Highlights
Supply-ratiometric conversion can cancel excitation drift
When both sensor excitation and ADC reference track VDD, supply changes can largely divide out of the ratio measurement. The same architecture is less attractive when the goal is an absolute voltage independent of supply.
Rate selection is also a resolution/noise decision
The 128-SPS mode is faster but provides fewer effective output bits than the slowest mode; firmware should choose conversion speed from the sensor bandwidth and noise target.
Design Considerations
- Treat VDD as an analog reference rail when measuring absolute voltage.
- Check source impedance against the switched-capacitor input impedance, especially at higher PGA settings.
- Keep the fixed A0 I²C address in the BOM/firmware mapping.
