Texas Instruments

Texas Instruments is a semiconductor manufacturer focused on analog and embedded processing technologies. Its portfolio covers power management, amplifiers, data converters, interface and isolation devices, sensors, logic, microcontrollers, processors, motor drivers, RF products and other building blocks used in electronic systems. TI supports applications across industrial automation, automotive electronics, communications equipment, personal electronics, data-center infrastructure and other embedded markets.

For engineers, the brand is relevant across both signal-chain and power architectures: TI components can be used to sense and condition real-world signals, convert and manage power, move data between interfaces, and provide embedded control or processing. The company also maintains manufacturer documentation, design tools and technical resources for a large number of orderable devices.

HKEQGOO brand pages group Texas Instruments electronic components by exact manufacturer part number so buyers and engineers can compare the specific device, package and application fit required for a BOM. Product availability, date code and inspection requirements should be confirmed separately for each quotation.

Product Overview

ADS1018IDGSR combines the ADS101x low-power delta-sigma architecture with SPI and an internal temperature sensor. That makes it especially useful for thermocouple front ends where one ADC reads the thermocouple voltage and the on-chip sensor estimates local cold-junction temperature.

The internal temperature sensor measures die/local board temperature, so cold-junction accuracy depends on package placement and thermal gradients between the connector and ADC. Software calibration/thermal design remain part of a good thermocouple system.

Compared with ADS1015, the interface changes from I²C to SPI and the key extra function is temperature sensing rather than comparator/address flexibility.

Functional Highlights

Integrated temperature sensing can simplify cold-junction compensation

It eliminates a separate local temperature IC only when the ADC is thermally representative of the connector/reference junction.

SPI gives deterministic point-to-point timing

It avoids I²C addressing and shared-bus pull-up constraints, but consumes more controller pins.

Design Considerations

  • Place the ADC thermally close to the cold-junction connector if using the internal sensor for compensation.
  • Use low-noise differential routing and PGA range appropriate to the thermocouple/sensor signal.
  • Account for delta-sigma data-rate/filter latency in control timing.

Product Status and Exact Order Code

Manufacturer status: Active / Production

Texas Instruments lists ADS1018IDGSR as Active / Production; VSSOP (DGS), 10 pins; 2500-piece large tape and reel; −40°C to +125°C; marking BTNQ.
