Product Overview
ADS1115IDGSR is a four-input precision ADC for low-bandwidth sensors that need more resolution than ADS1015 while retaining the same I²C-oriented integration style. The input mux supports four single-ended measurements or two differential pairs.
The PGA can zoom the converter range around small differential signals, but it does not permit analog pins to exceed supply/common-mode limits. Sensor offset, fault voltage and common-mode range therefore need separate checks from the selected digital full-scale setting.
The integrated comparator can generate threshold alerts or data-ready behavior, reducing firmware polling. The exact DGSR code is the 2500-piece VSSOP reel with current TI addendum marking BOGI.

Functional Highlights
16-bit conversion fits slow bridge, shunt and environmental sensing
Compared with the 12-bit ADS1015, ADS1115 prioritizes code depth at a lower maximum 860-SPS rate.
Comparator/ALERT can move simple threshold logic out of firmware
A rail, battery or sensor threshold can generate an interrupt without continuous I²C reads.
Design Considerations
- Account for delta-sigma filter settling when switching mux channels.
- Choose PGA range with headroom for offset and transient overrange.
- Keep I²C pull-up current and address assignment compatible with the system rail.
