Texas Instruments

Texas Instruments is a semiconductor manufacturer focused on analog and embedded processing technologies. Its portfolio covers power management, amplifiers, data converters, interface and isolation devices, sensors, logic, microcontrollers, processors, motor drivers, RF products and other building blocks used in electronic systems. TI supports applications across industrial automation, automotive electronics, communications equipment, personal electronics, data-center infrastructure and other embedded markets.

For engineers, the brand is relevant across both signal-chain and power architectures: TI components can be used to sense and condition real-world signals, convert and manage power, move data between interfaces, and provide embedded control or processing. The company also maintains manufacturer documentation, design tools and technical resources for a large number of orderable devices.

HKEQGOO brand pages group Texas Instruments electronic components by exact manufacturer part number so buyers and engineers can compare the specific device, package and application fit required for a BOM. Product availability, date code and inspection requirements should be confirmed separately for each quotation.

Product Overview

ADS1120IPWR is a sensor-front-end ADC rather than a bare converter. The mux, low-noise PGA, reference and two programmable excitation-current sources can directly support RTDs, resistive bridges and industrial transmitters with fewer external analog blocks.

The two IDACs are particularly useful for ratiometric RTD measurements: one or both current sources can excite the sensor/reference network while the ADC measures the resulting differential voltage. Matching and routing of the excitation path then become part of system accuracy.

ADS1120 provides 16-bit conversion up to 2 kSPS and reaches 16-bit noise-free performance at low data rate according to TI. The PWR code is the active 2000-piece TSSOP reel.

Functional Highlights

Dual IDACs can eliminate separate precision excitation sources

Programmable sensor current from tens of microamps to 1.5 mA supports RTD lead compensation, burnout checks and different sensor resistances.

50/60-Hz rejection is available at low-rate precision settings

Industrial mains rejection and single-cycle settling can matter more than headline 2-kSPS speed in process sensors.

Design Considerations

  • Select IDAC current from sensor self-heating as well as ADC signal amplitude.
  • Route reference and sensor excitation ratiometrically when possible.
  • Use input filtering that settles within the selected digital-filter conversion behavior.

Product Status and Exact Order Code
