Product Overview
UCC27511DBVR is a fast low-side MOSFET/IGBT gate driver with deliberately stronger sink than source current. The 8 A turn-off capability helps resist Miller-induced false turn-on and pull charge from a large gate quickly.
Separate OUTH and OUTL pins let the designer use different turn-on and turn-off gate resistors without a steering diode. This is valuable when EMI requires a slower turn-on but the switch still needs aggressive turn-off during commutation or fault response.
The SOT-23-6 exact order code is the 3000-piece large-reel option. Layout, not only peak-current number, determines whether the gate sees the intended edge rate.

Functional Highlights
Asymmetric 4 A/8 A drive favors turn-off robustness
Higher sink current can reduce Miller plateau duration and unwanted turn-on in fast half-bridge environments, while OUTH resistance can be increased to control dv/dt and EMI.
Split outputs provide cleaner asymmetric gate tuning
Independent source/sink paths avoid diode drop/recovery in a conventional split-resistor network and make the gate-loop behavior easier to predict.
Design Considerations
- Place driver, bypass capacitor and gate resistors very close to the power switch to minimize common-source/gate inductance.
- Select turn-on/turn-off resistors from measured switching loss, dv/dt and ringing rather than only peak current.
- Check negative gate/input transients against exact pin ratings in the intended power layout.
