Product Overview
LM3414HVMRX/NOPB integrates the low-side power MOSFET and current-sensing element for a 65 V constant-current buck LED driver. That reduces BOM compared with controller-only LM3409HV and eliminates an external current-sense resistor.
LED current is set from roughly 350 mA to 1 A using a small programming resistor, and the architecture supports PWM plus analog/thermal foldback. The integrated switch simplifies design but places switching loss and heat inside the IC/package.
The HVMRX exact code is the 2500-piece large-reel PowerPAD SO package. It is therefore both the HV 65 V electrical variant and the production-reel order code.

Functional Highlights
Integrated MOSFET/sense path simplifies a 1 A LED channel
Fewer high-current external parts reduce BOM and layout complexity, but the IC’s thermal pad/copper becomes critical to delivering high output power.
No external current-sense resistor removes one accuracy/loss term
Current programming still depends on the IADJ/setting network and internal sensing accuracy; thermal foldback can intentionally reduce LED current at high temperature.
Design Considerations
- Use the PowerPAD/copper layout to keep junction temperature inside limits at high VIN/current.
- Check switching loss and duty cycle for the real LED string; the 60 W headline is not achievable under every thermal/input condition.
- Select PWM frequency/pulse width from the required low-brightness behavior.
