Product Overview
ADC128S022CIMTX/NOPB is an eight-channel 12-bit SAR ADC for moderate-speed multiplexed data acquisition. Its 50–200 kSPS range is substantially slower than the pin/function-related ADC128S102, but it consumes less power and may be sufficient for sensors, housekeeping and control loops.
VA doubles as the analog reference, so supply/reference noise directly changes conversion full scale. The separate VD pin allows digital I/O voltage to follow the processor while the analog rail is optimized independently.
Because the input mux feeds one track/hold, source impedance and channel-to-channel step size determine acquisition settling. High-impedance sensors may need buffering or extra settling strategy.

Functional Highlights
200 kSPS is a deliberate power/speed point
Selecting the 1 MSPS sibling unnecessarily can raise power/EMI without improving a slow sensor application.
VA is both supply and reference
A noisy 5 V rail becomes gain/reference noise. Reference-quality decoupling/regulation is therefore part of ADC accuracy.
Design Considerations
- Check source impedance against acquisition time after channel switching.
- Treat VA as a reference rail and decouple/filter accordingly.
- Set SPI clock/throughput inside the 50–200 kSPS specified operating range.
