Product Overview

LM2901PWR is TI’s active TSSOP-14 tape-and-reel orderable for the LM2901 quad comparator. Four independent comparator channels share the supply while providing open-collector outputs that can be pulled up to a logic rail appropriate for the receiving circuit.

The open-collector architecture is a core selection point: each output needs an external pull-up, but that also makes wired-logic and level interfacing possible within the output-voltage limits.

Design Considerations

Every output requires a pull-up resistor. Choose the pull-up to meet low-level current, rise-time and power requirements; a very large resistor reduces current but slows rising edges through load capacitance.

Keep both comparator inputs inside the valid common-mode range. Inputs near the positive rail can leave the specified region even though the absolute-maximum voltage has not been exceeded.
