Product Overview
LM193DR is the extended-temperature dual member of the long-established LM193/293/393 comparator family. It is aimed at wide-temperature analog threshold detection rather than the lowest propagation delay or lowest offset available from newer B-generation comparators.
The open-collector outputs require external pull-up resistors, but that also lets the logic-high voltage be chosen independently from the comparator supply within ratings. Multiple outputs can be wire-combined for some alarm functions.
The −55°C to +125°C rating is a primary exact-order differentiator from commercial-family variants. The DR suffix selects SOIC-8 on a 2500-piece reel.

Functional Highlights
Open-collector output gives flexible logic-domain interfacing
The pull-up can target a lower logic rail than the analog comparator supply, useful when sensing higher-voltage systems with a low-voltage MCU.
Temperature grade is selection-critical
LM193DR is relevant when the product must operate below the −40°C limit common to industrial parts.
Design Considerations
- Choose pull-up resistance from required rise time, sink current and wired-logic use.
- Do not apply newer LM393B/LM2903B offset or speed claims to this legacy LM193 order code.
- Check input common-mode and differential limits at the actual supply rails.
