Product Overview
INA826AIDR is a wide-supply instrumentation amplifier designed to bridge the gap between micropower parts and higher-current low-noise precision devices. It consumes about 200 µA, runs from a 3 V single supply up to 36 V, and provides a rail-to-rail output.
Its input common-mode range includes the negative rail, which is useful in low-side bridge and single-supply sensor interfaces. The output can also swing close to the rails, but the input/common-mode, gain and output conditions must be checked together to avoid internal stage saturation.
Gain from 1 to 1000 is set with one external resistor. At high gain, low RG values make lead and PCB resistance significant; TI specifically cautions that wiring resistance and parasitic capacitance around RG can affect gain and stability.

INA826 can use much less current than INA821/INA828 while still supporting high-voltage industrial supplies and ±40 V protected inputs.
Rail-to-rail output improves low-voltage ADC use
On a 3 V single supply, output swing near the rails can recover more ADC range than older wide-supply instrumentation amplifiers, provided common-mode constraints are respected.
Design Considerations
- Check common-mode and output swing simultaneously at the selected gain and supply.
- At high gain, include RG lead/trace resistance and parasitics in accuracy/stability analysis.
- Use input protection resistors where the source can drive large current during overvoltage.
