Product Overview
INA821IDR uses the same low-noise, high-precision INA821 signal path in a conventional SOIC-8 package. It provides 35 µV maximum offset, 7 nV/√Hz noise and 4.7 MHz G=1 bandwidth across a wide 4.5 V to 36 V supply range.
The larger SOIC package is often preferred where automated optical inspection, manual probing, prototype modification or conservative creepage/assembly rules matter more than board density. That makes IDR a production-format choice rather than a change in amplifier transfer function versus the DGKR option.
For industrial data acquisition, the combination of ±40 V input protection, wide supply range and stable operation with capacitive loads gives useful interface margin, but the amplifier still needs correct REF drive and common-mode/output headroom.

Functional Highlights

Visible, wider-spaced leads simplify inspection, probing and rework. In long-life industrial instrumentation, that can outweigh the footprint savings of a VSSOP or SON package.
Electrical performance still requires precision PCB practice
Low offset and high CMRR can be degraded by thermocouple junctions, leakage, unequal input impedance and poor RG routing even though the package is easier to assemble.
Design Considerations
- Use symmetric input routing and low-thermal-EMF connections for microvolt-level accuracy.
- Drive REF with low impedance to avoid degrading CMRR and output accuracy.
- Choose SOIC intentionally if production/service requirements justify its larger board area.
