Product Overview
ADM2486BRWZ-REEL is a high-speed galvanically isolated half-duplex RS-485 transceiver specified to 20 Mbps and for PROFIBUS operation. It integrates the digital isolation barrier with the differential driver and receiver.
Unlike isoPower-equipped transceivers, ADM2486 does not generate isolated bus-side power internally. VDD1 can use a 3 V or 5 V logic supply, while VDD2 requires a separately isolated 5 V source. This is a major architecture decision when comparing isolated RS-485 parts.
