Product Overview
FSUSB42MUX is the MSOP-10 orderable of onsemi’s FSUSB42 low-power high-speed USB switch. Its DPDT signal path can connect one USB D+/D− pair to either of two sources, supporting USB 2.0 high-speed operation at 480 Mbps as well as lower-speed serial/UART routing.
Low channel capacitance and >720 MHz bandwidth help preserve USB edge shape, while the I/O structure remains tolerant of up to 5.25 V on the switched USB ports when the device supply is off.

High-Speed Layout Considerations
At USB 2.0 high-speed rates, switch bandwidth alone is not sufficient. Keep D+ and D− traces length-matched, minimize stubs around the mux and avoid adding unnecessary capacitance at the common node.
The OE and SEL logic should be sequenced so an unintended source is not briefly connected during cable or mode changes.
