Product Overview
The BQ24315DSGR is TI’s active WSON-8 tape-and-reel orderable for a single-cell Li-ion charging-path protection IC. It protects the system from adapter/input overvoltage, programmable overcurrent and battery overvoltage faults.
The device is a front-end protector rather than a complete battery charger. It is typically placed between the external power input and the charger/power-management stage.

Design Considerations
Use TI’s exposed-pad land pattern and thermal grounding for the 2×2 mm WSON. Fault current and transient energy can be concentrated in a very small package.
Program the input-current threshold to match both adapter and downstream charger requirements; do not use the 1.5 A capability as a universal current setting.
