Product Overview
The LAN9500AI-ABZJ is the industrial-temperature tray version of Microchip’s LAN9500A USB-to-Ethernet controller. It integrates USB 2.0 device-controller/PHY functionality with a complete 10/100 Ethernet MAC and PHY in a 56-pin QFN.
The I temperature designator is the important exact-part distinction: Microchip specifies -40°C to +85°C operation for LAN9500Ai, while the non-I LAN9500A order code is 0°C to +70°C. ABZJ without -TR denotes the standard tray package form.

Design Considerations
For industrial systems, the temperature suffix is a real qualification choice rather than a labeling detail. Preserve LAN9500AI when the environmental specification extends outside the commercial 0°C to +70°C range.
The tray order form may also affect assembly logistics compared with the tape-and-reel variant. Electrical equivalence within the LAN9500A family does not remove the need to preserve exact packing requirements for automated manufacturing.
