Product Overview
The MP8009AGV-Z is the Z-reel ordering option of MPS’s MP8009A integrated PoE powered-device power converter. The device combines the IEEE 802.3af/at PD front end with a flyback/forward power controller, reducing the number of separate high-voltage interface and control devices needed in an isolated PoE supply.
The PD interface includes detection, one-event and two-event classification, a 120 mA inrush-current limit, an 840 mA operating-current limit and a 100 V integrated pass MOSFET. On the converter side, the controller supports primary-side-regulated or secondary-side-regulated flyback operation as well as secondary-side-regulated active-clamp forward designs.

Design Considerations
The 840 mA PD current limit is an interface protection threshold, not a direct statement of available regulated output current. Transformer ratio, topology, PoE class, conversion efficiency and thermal limits still determine the usable output power.
MPS lists MP8009AGV-Z and MP8009AGV-P as the same device with different reel-size suffixes. Procurement should preserve the requested Z suffix when reel configuration matters, while the electrical design should follow the MP8009A device specification.
