Product Overview
The 1N4148UR-1/TR is the tape-and-reel form of Microchip’s high-reliability 1N4148UR-1 surface-mount switching diode in a hermetic glass DO-213AA package. It is intended for fast switching, signal steering, detector and blocking functions where low capacitance and a robust glass package are useful.
This is not the same package as the axial 1N4148-1 or other small-signal diode variants. Mechanical substitution should preserve the DO-213AA MELF footprint, while electrical replacement should include reverse-recovery and capacitance requirements rather than matching only the 75 V working rating.

Design Considerations
The 200 mA average-current rating is tied to the manufacturer’s mounting and ambient conditions. For continuous current, calculate diode dissipation from the actual forward-voltage operating point and the board thermal path instead of treating the current rating as package-independent.
For high-speed nodes, the 5 ns reverse-recovery limit and a few picofarads of capacitance are often more relevant than the DC forward-current rating. Compare those dynamic parameters when considering a substitute.
