Product Overview
The MP5031GRE-00A3-Z is an MPS USB Type-C source/DFP controller with USB PD protocol handling, BMC PHY, VBUS isolation-MOSFET control, legacy charging detection and policy functions. The 00A3 suffix identifies an OTP-programmed configuration and should be treated as part of the functional orderable identity.
The controller does not replace the entire high-power conversion stage. Its advertised PD capability depends on the external VBUS power converter, MOSFETs, cable capability and programmed power-data objects.

Design Considerations
The 00A3 OTP settings can change default source behavior and PDO configuration. Do not replace it with another MP5031 suffix unless firmware or OTP equivalence has been verified.
Place CC and VBUS sensing paths away from switching nodes. The external VBUS FET and converter must be rated for the requested PD voltage/current profile.
