Product Overview

The 74ALVC164245DGG:11 is Nexperia’s active TSSOP48 orderable for a 16-bit bidirectional bus transceiver with separate A-side and B-side supplies. It is intended for level translation between independently powered logic domains while providing direction control and 3-state isolation.

The supply relationship is a critical design rule. Nexperia requires VCC(B) to be at least VCC(A) in normal operation, except for defined suspend conditions, so it should not be treated as a fully arbitrary two-way voltage translator.

Design Considerations

When one supply is at 0 V, place the affected outputs in high impedance as required by the power-down truth table. This prevents back-powering through the bus pins and preserves the intended I/OFF behavior.

Because the B-side supply has a lower maximum than the A side, verify supply sequencing and rail tolerances. A 5 V B-side rail is outside the specified VCC(B) operating range even though A can operate at 5.5 V.
