Product Overview
The LAN9500A-ABZJ-TR is Microchip’s tape-and-reel, extended-commercial-temperature version of the LAN9500A USB-to-Ethernet bridge. It combines a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 device controller and PHY with an integrated 10/100 Ethernet MAC and PHY in a single 56-pin QFN.
The exact suffix matters. ABZJ-TR identifies the 56-pin QFN tape-and-reel order form, while the lack of the I temperature designator means this version is specified for 0°C to +70°C. The related LAN9500AI-ABZJ is the industrial-temperature tray version and should not be treated as the same procurement item.

Design Considerations
The LAN9500A reduces the bridge to one IC, but the Ethernet magnetics, connector and board-level power/clock network still need to follow Microchip’s layout guidance. USB 2.0 and Ethernet routing should be treated as two separate high-speed interfaces on the PCB.
Do not substitute the industrial-temperature version solely from package compatibility. If the end equipment must operate below 0°C or above 70°C, use the exact industrial order code rather than extending the commercial-temperature rating.
