Product Overview

The ADL5611ARKZ-R7 is the tape-and-reel SOT-89 version of Analog Devices’ 30 MHz to 6 GHz RF/IF gain block. It combines 22.2 dB fixed gain with a 2.1 dB noise figure and 40 dBm OIP3 at 900 MHz, providing a high dynamic range where both sensitivity and strong-signal handling matter.

This combination distinguishes it from the ADL5545, which uses less supply current but offers lower headline OIP3, and from the ADL5602, which has lower fixed gain and a different frequency/linearity balance. The exact signal-chain requirement should therefore drive the choice rather than treating all SOT-89 gain blocks as interchangeable.

Design Considerations

The low 2.1 dB noise figure and high OIP3 are specified at 900 MHz; receiver designs at higher frequencies should use the exact frequency plots to determine whether the noise/linearity balance remains appropriate.

With 22.2 dB gain, the available output headroom of later stages can become a limiting factor before the amplifier itself reaches compression. Include downstream filter loss and ADC or mixer input limits in the cascade budget.
