Product Overview
The ADL5536ARKZ-R7 is the tape-and-reel SOT-89 version of Analog Devices’ high-dynamic-range IF gain block. It provides a fixed 20 dB gain from 20 MHz to 1 GHz with internally matched 50 Ω input and output ports, reducing the amount of external matching required in sub-GHz receive and instrumentation chains.
Its defining selection point is linearity in the lower IF range. Analog Devices specifies 45 dBm OIP3 at 190 MHz and 49 dBm at 380 MHz, together with a 2.6–2.7 dB noise figure at those same representative frequencies. The device draws 105 mA from 5 V, so its dynamic-range advantage comes with a higher current budget than lower-power gain blocks.

Design Considerations
The headline OIP3 values are frequency-specific. For a design operating far from 190 MHz or 380 MHz, use the frequency curves rather than extrapolating those two points across the entire 1 GHz span.
The 105 mA quiescent current also creates a meaningful thermal load in SOT-89. PCB copper and junction-temperature margin should be checked when the amplifier is used continuously or in a high-ambient-temperature enclosure.
