Product Overview
TCA6424ARGJR provides 24 remote GPIOs in one translating I²C device, targeting boards where connector/control/status pin count is high but MCU pins are scarce. Its voltage-domain flexibility allows the I²C side and P-port side to operate at different common logic voltages.
A single 24-bit expander can reduce device count relative to multiple 8-bit parts, but it also concentrates many board functions behind one I²C address and interrupt. Firmware fault handling should account for the larger impact of a bus/device failure.
