Product Overview
TPS22810DRVR is the compact leadless version of TPS22810 and is rated for up to 3 A continuous current when thermal conditions permit. It retains the 18 V input range, programmable turn-on ramp and adjustable output discharge.
The extra current capability versus DBVR comes from the package/thermal implementation, not a different basic switch controller. A design changing from SOT-23 to WSON must therefore change footprint, solder process and heat-spreading copper.
At higher current the 79-mΩ-class resistance creates meaningful conduction loss, so the 3-A rating must be checked against actual VIN, ambient and PCB thermal resistance rather than treated as unconditional.

Functional Highlights
WSON thermal path enables the higher 3-A package rating
The exposed pad and compact copper connection reduce thermal resistance compared with the leaded package when laid out correctly.
Same slew/QOD controls support high-current rail sequencing
Even a multi-amp rail can start gently if CT is chosen from capacitance and allowed input-supply disturbance.
Design Considerations
- Use exposed-pad copper/vias according to TI layout guidance to approach the 3-A thermal capability.
- Calculate I²R loss at the real load current and worst-case RON/temperature.
- Do not drop this DRV part onto the DBV footprint; package identity is a real mechanical/thermal change.
