Product Overview
TPS27081ADDCR integrates a power PFET and its control NFET so a low-voltage MCU can switch a rail up to 8 V without a separate gate-level shifter. It behaves more like a compact discrete-PFET replacement than a heavily protected USB power switch.
External R/C components set both turn-on and turn-off slew, giving the designer more control over inrush and shutdown timing than a fixed-ramp load switch.
PFET RDS(on) depends strongly on available gate-source voltage. At low switched supply voltage the resistance rises, so the 44-mΩ figure must not be applied across the full 1.2–8 V range.

Functional Highlights
Integrated level shifting bridges low-voltage logic to higher rails
A 1-V-class GPIO can control an 8-V rail without exposing the MCU pin to the switched voltage.
External slew network gives broad timing freedom
Startup and shutdown can be tuned for very large capacitive loads or system sequencing constraints.
Design Considerations
- Use the RDS(on) figure corresponding to actual VGS/VIN.
- Choose R1/R2/C1 from inrush, off-time and GPIO leakage constraints.
- Add external fault/current protection if the application needs behavior beyond the PFET switch itself.
Product Status and Exact Order Code
