Product Overview
INA193AIDBVR is the 20 V/V member of the INA19x family, notable for a common-mode range extending below ground to −16 V and up to +80 V. That allows current monitoring during negative bus transients or on high-voltage rails that exceed the local 2.7 V to 18 V amplifier supply.
The 20 V/V gain option provides the family’s highest stated bandwidth at 500 kHz. It therefore fits control or protection loops that need more transient bandwidth and can tolerate a larger shunt voltage than the 50 V/V or 100 V/V variants.
INA193 uses pinout #1. The electrically related INA196 also provides 20 V/V but uses pinout #2, so matching gain does not make it footprint-compatible.

Functional Highlights
Negative common-mode capability is the primary differentiator
Many current-sense amplifiers tolerate only a few hundred millivolts below ground. INA193 remains specified to −16 V common mode, which is useful around inductive or automotive-style bus excursions.
Low VSENSE operation has a separate accuracy regime
The normal gain/error specifications are stated for VSENSE at or above about 20 mV. Below that level, output behavior becomes more dependent on common-mode voltage and the ideal 20× relationship should not be extrapolated blindly.
Design Considerations
- Do not size RSENSE only from the ideal 20 V/V transfer when normal current produces less than 20 mV sense voltage.
- Verify output headroom against the 2.7-18 V supply at maximum shunt signal.
- Preserve pinout #1 when comparing with INA196 or other same-gain family members.
