Product Overview
INA180A1IDBVR is the 20 V/V fixed-gain member of the INA180 single-channel current-sense family. It senses shunt drops at common-mode voltages from slightly below ground to 26 V while operating from a separate 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply.
The A1 gain option is also the fastest member of this fixed-gain set at about 350 kHz. Higher-gain INA180 variants trade bandwidth for more volts per millivolt of shunt signal, so A1 is useful when the shunt can provide adequate signal amplitude and transient response matters.
Its output is ground-referenced and intended for unidirectional current measurement. For bidirectional measurement around a reference level, the related INA181 architecture is the more appropriate topology.

Functional Highlights
Fixed gain removes the external gain-resistor error term
The integrated matched resistor network simplifies the transfer to approximately 20 times VSENSE and reduces board-level gain-setting components. RS still determines measurement loss and full-scale current range.
A1 is a bandwidth choice as well as a gain choice
Within the family, 20 V/V provides the highest stated bandwidth. Selecting a higher gain to reduce shunt voltage also reduces available signal bandwidth.
Design Considerations
- Calculate full-scale output as 20 × VSENSE and preserve headroom below the 2.7-5.5 V supply rail.
- Do not select INA180 when signed/bidirectional output around a reference is required.
- Route Kelvin sense traces directly to RSENSE and add input filtering symmetrically if needed.
